Community Skills for Life – Free Evening Workshops (Llanigon & Felindre, November 2025)

Build confidence, learn practical skills, and meet neighbours at our Community Skills for Life programme. Free, friendly 90-minute sessions with refreshments and free Dial-a-Ride transport. Open to all ages and experience levels.

What’s on (3 sessions)

🩹 Emergency First Aid & Defibrillator Awareness

Learn life-saving essentials: CPR, recovery position, when and how to use a defibrillator, plus what to do with bleeds, burns and shock.

💻 Everyday Digital Confidence

Get comfortable with your phone or tablet, email and online services (NHS and Council). Learn scam-spotting and privacy basics. Bring your device and questions.

🌿 Environmental Awareness & Sustainability

Simple, money-saving actions at home: energy tips, recycling, waste reduction and wildlife-friendly gardening. Ways to get involved locally.

All sessions run 7:00–8:30pm with free refreshments.

Getting there & access

Transport: Free Dial-a-Ride available. Please book at least 2 days before your session (Mon–Fri, 9am–12 noon) on 01497 821616.
Accessibility: Halls are step-free with accessible toilets. If you have specific needs, email clerk@gwernyfed.co.uk and we’ll help.

No booking required — just come along.

Volunteering & community opportunities

Each session includes a short spotlight on local volunteering (event helpers, neighbourhood activities, environmental projects). If you’d like to volunteer, say hello on the night or email clerk@gwernyfed.co.uk.

What happens next (Phase 2)

If these sessions go well, we’ll run the programme in Glasbury and Three Cocks in February–March 2026.

Do I need to book?

No — just turn up. Only transport needs advance booking.

Do I need to bring anything?

For the Digital session, bring your phone/tablet/laptop and charger if you can.

Is it suitable for all ages?

Yes. The content is practical and accessible. Under-16s should attend with an adult.

How long is each session?

90 minutes, including Q&A and refreshments
